Miguel Heras from Spain won 2010 TNF Endurance Challenge 50 Mile putting an impressive finish in the last five miles to overtook pre-prace favourite Geoff Roes who finished 2nd, ahead of Dave Mackey 3rd. Anna Frost from New Zealand was the women's winner.
Representing Great Britain, Ellie Greenwood won the IAU World 100 km Championship in Gibraltar. After a battle with pre-race favourite and teammate Lizzy Hawker, Greenwood assumed the lead a couple of miles before the finish line, concluding the race in a time of 7:29:05.
Ultrarunning legend Karl Meltzer finished his run retracing the route that was used by the Pony Express as the premier mail service from east to west in the 1860s. The 2064 miles itinerary was completed in 40 days, averaging 4.81 miles per hour for the entire run.
