The organizers have agreed to restart 1239 runners from the non started TDS and the cancelled UTMB from Courmayeur this morning at 10:17. This UTMB restart will follow the CCC route back to Chamonix, an alternative race of approximately 100 km.

Strong winds and heavy rains forced the organization to cancel the 8th annual Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, approximately 3 hours into the race. Buses are now carrying all 2300 racers back to Chamonix and race directors are studying a way to give trailers a new race.

I caught up with Julien Chorier, 2009 Reunion Island Grand Raid champion the day before the race. During the interview, Julien talks about his cycling background, what he learned from his 2009 season and what his strategy will be during the race.
